以下這段是對墨西哥蝴蝶谷的說明.
One of the greatest migrations of the Animal Kingdom is that of the humble Monarch Butterfly. The Butterflies fly north from Central Mexico across the US and Southern Canada over three generations. The fourth generation turns around and heads south back to Mexico where they spend the winter in a very small area of the Michoacan state of Central Mexico before the whole thing starts again.
Every year, from November to March, betwen 60 million and 1 billion butterflies cover the trees of a few valleys only a few hours from Mexico City.

基本上是說:
墨西哥蝴蝶谷的蝴蝶是從加拿大南來避冬的,但奇妙的是這一個循環卻須要4代的蝴蝶來完成,第一代從加拿大經美國一次飛到墨西哥,卻要靠3代的努力才能回到加拿大.
第4代再回到墨西哥.這4代循環加上蝴蝶本身的三種變化(毛虫,吐絲結簡,蝴蝶),這12種變化,中間的聯結如何?,訊息如何傳達,他們如何每年準確的回到同一山谷,千年來均無誤.
這真是自然的神奇之處了.

中加卅的Pismo Beach park也有類似的景觀,只是規模,數量均無法和墨西哥相此.
但皆為大自然動物遷移奇觀,有机會的確值得一觀.
