North Lake as of this morning was glorious. Though most of the hill behind is reddish and orange, the leaves are uncharacteristically still there and not brown, and there is still some green and yellow there too!! The trees on the west shore are bright yellow, tapering to orange-red at the south end. Trees at the north end are done, as they usually are by now, but with more leaves than usual. The trees behind Lake Sabrina are peaking, but still with a smattering of green.
I concur that Weir Lake (we all know it is a pond, but the title appears to be “lake”) is at peak. The South Fork of Bishop Creek is really beautiful at the higher elevations; past Table Mountain campground. The one whole hillside on the west side is a great mix of colors this year. Below that, near the waterfall and the South Fork settlement it is mostly green. I actually ran into another photographer using a view camera; actually four of them yesterday. Vinnie, it was nice to meet you (he uses this site too Carol…so thanks again for the site).
