Not sure if I should laugh at it or feel sad about it. Did those kids really know how to use them or they just shoot them in Auto mode? Don't know how to express my feeling about those Pro DSLR camera and Lens in the hand of the kids.

Definitely feel sad about it. The misguided culture in China has spread to the younger generation where how much money you spend on something will dictate your status. The parents are supposedly responsible for educating their children about the intrinsic value of things rather than the extrinsic value. Though I can understand to a degree that for more than 60 years, the people of China have been so deficient and behind in material goods that, after the economic boom, people who struck it rich wholeheartedly started to pursue the enjoyment of the best material things that money can buy. Unfortunately, this practice would inevitably create a superficial society with no real substance where your success is only judged by the things you own rather than true understanding of things. The content of your character becomes less important than the worldly possessions that you have. Sophistication, knowledge, and experience are to be learned, not bought. It is truly sad.

Oh, just an after-thought....

What if these kids are really talented and they deserved them?
What if they are really the professionals?
What if they are on a trip where they need the long zoom lenses?

Judging from the seriousness on their faces, the willingness to carry that heavy backpacks (my kid won't carry anything heavy even if I gave her $1000), I believe these kids know what they are doing .... haha.

More importantly, I don't see any caddies around... (or maids)

But in this case, we need to give the benefit of the doubt to these kids.
"If it FITS their needs, you must ADMIT!" (said Johnny Cochran, oh no not quite as I am still drunk!).
